岭大致力于为学生提供全球性的学习机会以培养他们在全球化环境下需具备的国际视野及跨文化经验。其逾80%的学生可到其遍布全球的170余所兄弟院校交换学习，包括北京大学、清华大学、台湾大学等。此外，岭大亦强制性要求学生参与服务研习，以培养他们勇于承担社会责任的品德。岭南大学社区学院于2002年成立，简称“CCLU”，是岭南大学其中一个附属部门。校舍位于岭南大学新教学大楼（NAB），开设副学士学位先修课程、副学士学位课程和高级文凭课程，供香港中学文凭考试毕业生及取得内地或海外认可之中学或专上课程学历的学生报读。
