罗马风格的建筑坐落在花园般的校园内，西澳大学被誉为澳洲最美校园之一。其共设有三大校区，九大学院。学校所在的西澳大利亚州以工矿业闻名世界，是只有澳大利亚11%人口，却创造并支撑全澳经济近50%的奋进之州。学校携手泰勒学院每年开办多期预科课程，学制从30周至60周不等。成功完成预科课程可修读西澳大学的本科学位（受配额和学位要求的限制），是进入西澳大学学习的最有效途径。预科成功率90%以上（所以八大名校里面预科通过率最高，只要62分就可以进入西澳大学。相比较墨尔本大学预科要80分才能进入墨尔本大学而言算是非常宽松的）。
